Sam Sciarrino: Wedding Photography with the Sony Alpha 7V

    contributorBy contributorFebruary 25, 2026No Comments3 Mins Read

As a seasoned wedding photographer, capturing honest, emotional, and lasting images is the key to my success.

Sony Alpha 7 V Camera with LensYet every location brings its own challenges. Sometimes the lighting is ideal, and other times I’m in a dark or in a challenging space. In those situations, the goal isn’t to force the moment, but to move naturally through it, creating a beautiful image, from a difficult situation while keeping the experience relaxed and genuine.

When Sony lent me the Alpha 7 V, it allowed me to stay present with my subjects, keeping them comfortable, spontaneous, and engaged—without interrupting the rhythm of the session.

The Alpha 7 V, paired with the Sony 50–150mm became one of my favorite lenses. It lets me step back and document moments as they unfold, while still maintaining intimacy, depth, and refinement.

With up to 30 frames per second in 14-bit RAW, pre-capture and speed boost, I don’t have to anticipate or control every detail. The camera responds as moments evolve.

When lighting becomes challenging, its wide dynamic range helps preserve highlights and depth, while maintaining natural skin tones.

Sam Sciarrino Bride PortraitThe AI-powered subject recognition allows me to stay focused on people rather than settings, whether I’m capturing stills or video.

It can move naturally and focus on what matters most: staying present with the people in front of me.

When technology works seamlessly in the background, I’m free to focus on connection and create lasting memories for my clients.
