Meet the Nikon S1000pj, it’s a camera, it’s a projector. It’s… both?
Nikon has announced the Coolpix S1000pj – the first compact camera with a built-in VGA projector (640 by 480 at 30 fps). It’ll capture 12-megapixel images, standard def. video – which it can then project on a screen up to 40″ wide at a 640 x 480 resolution – features a 2.7″ LCD and offer 5x optical zoom.
Using Nikon’s own pico-projector technology, the camera will also feature an embedded speaker for audio playback, a wireless remote and projector stand as well as in-camera software that allows for themed slideshows with transitions, special effects and music.
The Coolpix S1000pj is set to be on the shelves this September.
