Speedlights in Space!

Did you know that a flash won’t work in a vacuum? Of course you did, you’re all clever like that. But did you ever wonder what the good folks at NASA do when they need the enlightenment of a flash in order to take photos?

Charlie Sorrel just posted a Wired blog piece that answers this very question. And it involves something a bit more involved that a MacGyver’d ziplock bag or some underwater housing.
