Westcott has just launched two powerful new FJ strobes – the FJ400 II and the FJ800 – extending the lineup with some serious and welcome upgrades.

Both the FJ400 II and FJ800 (pictured) feature an OLED touchscreen display.

Catering to both photo and video creatives, Westcott spotlights are known for their power and portability. The FJ wireless flash system in particular is known for its superior and consistent light output, with unparalleled speed, performance and reliability, whether you’re shooting outdoor portraits in full sun, fast-paced events or detailed studio work.

Following in the footsteps of the FJ80, FJ200, and FJ400, the two latest models up the ante with the addition of a 30-watt bi-colour LED modelling light and a full-colour OLED touchscreen.

With a super-fast 0.01 to 0.9s recycle time, the second-generation FJ400 II claims bragging rights to Westcott’s fastest 400-watt speedlight. Bypassing 600 watts in a single leap , the FJ800 is the company’s first 800-watt AC/DC touchscreen strobe.

The FJ800 and FJ400 II also boast a brand new Creative Mask feature that lets users control when each strobe is fired and the number of frames to be captured. Creating up to six unique lighting combinations within seconds, it’s ideal for fast-paced shooting environments including sports and volume photography. Westcott intends to make Creative Mask available on all FJ Wireless flashes going forward through its StudioLink mobile app.

Both the FJ800 and FJ400 II can be purchased as a standalone item. The FJ400 II is also available in a range of kit options, including the 1-Light Backpack Kit with FJ-X3 M Universal Wireless Trigger, the 1-Light Backpack Kit with FJ-X3 S Wireless Trigger for Sony Cameras, the 2-Light Backpack Kit with FJ-X3 M Universal Wireless Trigger and more.
