The new Z CAM E2 M4 combines the best of the standard Z Cam E2 feature set into a Z Cam “Flagship” (the MFT S6, Full-Frame F6 and Full-Frame F8) style chassis.

    Features

The new Z CAM E2 M4 boasts the same MFT sensor, recording rates, main menu, media etc. as the found in the standard E2 model but in a body featuring the improved ergonomics of the larger flagship models as well as a standard MFT lens mount (which is now interchangeable with other optional mounts).

The E2 M4 like all the Z CAM flagship models, features 4 assignable buttons and a CFast 2.0 Media Card slot on the operator side, while the Audio and Lanc control ports have been moved to the assistant side of the body.

On the back of the body, all of the external rear interface connectors are now the same as found on the flagship models.

    Product Highlights

    • 10.28 MP WDR CMOS Sensor
    • MFT Format Standard Mount
    • C4K & UHD (3840 x 1620) at max 160fps Video Recording
    • 13-16 Stops Dynamic Range
    • 10-bit (H.265 and ProRes) / 8-bit (H.264) Colour Bit Depth
    • Internal ZCAM Raw or External ProRes Raw recording to Atomos
    • Aluminum Alloy Material Construction
    • Same as flagship models Weight – 930 g (32.8 oz.)
    • Same as flagship models Dimensions – 91.2 x 99.25 x 95.6 mm (3.6 x 3.9 x 3.76″)

Because the new Z CAM E2 M4 features the same ergonomics as the flagship models, it is ideally suited to multicam style operations and offers accessories, rigging etc. that are basically identical to those flagship models as well as the High Frame Rate shooting modes of the standard E2.

Important differences from the standard E2 model:

Unlike the standard E2 model, the E2 M4 (like the other Flagship models) does NOT ship with a Power supply.  Z CAM has instead included a Dtap to 2 pin Lemo cable with D-tap to 2.5mm adapter cable that adds compatibility for 3rd party standard 12v power supplies.

Another important thing to know is that unlike the standard E2 model, the E2 M4 does NOT support Multi-sync or the original TC adapter for the E2.

Also, like the standard E2, the MFT mount is not compatible with the Z CAM optional EvND due to the flange depth. However the good news is that the E2 M4 has an optional interchangeable mount so you can change it to PL or EF that can use the optional EvND or other new mounts coming soon like the Leica M mount or a new MFT Speed boost which are coming soon.

Z CAM states that because of these 5 differences, size, weight, multi sync, TC, and no included Power Supply, the standard E2 will also continue to be available at it’s regular pricing.

The E2 M4 now has, like all flagship models, four assignable buttons on the operator side along with the CFast 2.0 Media Card slot. Audio and Lanc control ports are moved to the assistant side of the camera. All external rear interface connectors are now the same as the other Flagship models.
