The next-gen Sigma FP2 is a pocketable full-frame hybrid camera based on three core principles: small, powerful and adaptable.
Small is a relative term, but in the realm of mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras housing a large 35mm full-frame sensor, the Sigma FP2 scores big.

The newer model retains virtually the same overall dimensions as its immediate predecessor – both measure 112.8mm wide and 69.9mm tall – while slimming down its body thickness to 41.8mm over the other’s 45.3mm.
Thinner, yes, but slightly heavier than the original FP too. The FP2 features a tilting screen with a physical hinge mechanism that adds a bit of weight but makes its slimness all the more remarkable.
A much larger 16Wh battery also contributes to the heft but boosts power from 280 to roughly 370 shots (or about 130 minutes of video) on a single charge.
Although marketed as a hybrid camera and perfectly capable in the stills department – now with 13 colour modes to choose from, selectable with the dedicated button, plus the power to shoot continuously at up to 20 fps for up to 200 frames in a single burst – the upgrades to its video features steal the spotlight.

In fact, the FP2 becomes a full-fledged cinema camera at the flip of a switch.
Those shooting video will happily say goodbye to the cumbersome first-generation CinemaDNG workflow. With the ability to shoot 6K open-gate video and support for ProRes RAW/HQ, the FP2 can record 10-bit colour depth internally. It also adds a proper logarithmic L-Log profile to the mix.
You’ve also got 32-bit float audio, allowing for noticeably reduced noise at lower volumes and less clipping at higher volumes, as well as the ability to capture sound with a wider dynamic range.
It sounds like Sigma pulled out all the stops to get the FP2 just right. The camera is also available as a kit with the Sigma 50mm f/2 Contemporary lens or with the newly upgraded EVF-21 electronic viewfinder.
