The new M EV1 marks a first for the Leica M series

The Leica M EV1 rangefinder camera sits on a polished wooden surface

The new M EV1 is the first Leica M-system model to feature an integrated electronic viewfinder instead of a trademark rangefinder-style optical viewfinder. With crisp, vivid resolution, it displays the lens’ total field of view – from wide angle to telephoto – allowing you to see every detail exactly as it’s destined to be captured on the camera’s full-frame sensor.

The Leica M EV1 takes the storied series in a whole new direction.

Leica’s legendary M series of premium rangefinders dates back to 1954, with each successive generation offering its own unique slate of thoughtful improvements and refinements to keep this timeless classic up to date and relevant.

Although a departure from the rangefinder heritage, this new model maintains the traditional M body design, unparalleled Leica build quality and outstanding imaging capabilities. It’s a direct descendant of the M11, launched in 2022, featuring the same 60MP BSI CMOS full-frame sensor with Triple Resolution Technology.

This innovative technology allows you toggle among your choice of 60, 36 or 18MP resolutions to meet prevailing condition and capture images in varying degrees of dynamic range to suit your purpose.

In another digression from its rangefinder lineage, the M EV1 uses built-in focus assistants, including focus peaking and a helpful magnification function that can be activated manually through the FN button or automatically by turning the focus ring when it’s pre-set to do so.

    Features

    • 60.3MP CMOS sensor
    • Full-frame format
    • 4.5 fps continuous shooting
    • 64-50000 ISO sensitivity
    • Integrated 5.76m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder
    • 64GB internal memory and SD UHS-II slot
