Built for speed, the new Leica SL3-S is the company’s fastest camera yet.

The SL3-S is securely protected by an IP54-certified solid all-metal body.

Originally launched back in 2015, Leica’s SL series of full-frame hybrid cameras was intended from the outset to seamlessly blend high-level still photography and video capabilities with a focus on speed, flexibility and versatility.

Following in the footsteps of 2019’s SL2 and the SL3, which made its debut just last year, the new SL3-S continues in that direction, taking the series to the next level – and then some.

While retaining the classic styling and ergonomically pleasing body design as its predecessors, the SL3-S packs an all-new 24.6MP BSI CMOS sensor and Maestro IV processor that combine to deliver cutting-edge phase detection AF and buffer performance, enabling continuous shooting at up to 30 fps with full autofocus support – hence making this the fastest Leica ever.

Shooters will see a similar performance boost in the video department. The SL3-S captures footage at up to 6K resolution and offers 3:2 open-gate recording for added workflow flexibility. The Maestro IV processor can handle enormous amounts of data with considerable ease, producing superb colour rendering with high dynamic range and an expanded ISO range of 50 to 200,000.

In another first for the SL system, the SL3-S comes equipped with Content Credentials technology, allowing every image to be stamped with tamper-proof metadata, including the camera model and author information, which can be viewed and authenticated using widely available verification tools.

It’s also worth noting that SL system cameras employ the versatile L-mount, opening the SL3-S up to a vast range of lens options, including not only Leica’s own highly regarded models but also those produced by Sigma and Panasonic.
