The new DJI Osmo Pocket 4P handheld gimbal camera picks up where its predecessor left off, packing some heavy-duty pro-level features into the company’s first-ever dual-lens vlogging camera.
These upgrades include a 1/1.28-inch sensor attached to a 60mm-equivalent telephoto lens, complementing a one-inch stacked sensor with a 20mm-equivalent wide-angle lens – the same found on the original Osmo Pocket 4 launched earlier this year.
When you zoom in or out, the gimbal seamlessly transitions from the wide lens to the telephoto lens using a cutting-edge lens-switching system. The final video file is a single continuous perspective that changes focal lengths, rather than two separate video feeds recorded at the same time.
The Osmo Pocket 4P also introduces a new D-Log 2 colour profile to capture professional-looking cinematic video in 10-bit colour with up to 17 stops of dynamic range and unlocking pro-level colour-grading capabilities.
That’s a considerable boost and noticeable improvement above the Pocket 4’s 14 stops of dynamic range and standard colour-grading limitations.
Both models feature a comfortable handheld design, a rotating two-inch touchscreen and 3-axis mechanical stabilization via the gimbal camera unit with magnetic arm and contact points.
Along with DJI’s renowned stabilization prowess, this compact 230g device packs additional intelligent cinema capabilities into a convenient pocket-sized form factor.
Smart Follow 8.0 covers full-focal-length follow, multi-person follow and main-subject follow, with tracking up to 12x zoom.

Interestingly, a similar dual-camera design made its debut in the recently launched (and direct competitor) Insta360 Luna Ultra, but the Pocket 4P’s twin-lens array is stacked vertically while the Luna Ultra’s is set side by side horizontally.
Both of these models offer a 6x lossless telephoto zoom, as well as a 12x hybrid digital zoom. To its advantage, the Insta360 Luna Ultra records up to 8K at 30 fps and supports HDR Dolby Vision, while the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P maxes out at 4K resolution but reaches an impressively high 240 fps for stunningly smooth slow-motion video.
The Osmo Pocket 4P is available in a variety of kits, including the Standard Combo and Vlog Combo with Pocket 4 fill light, Mic Mini 2 transmitter, Mini tripod and more.
Available accessories include a magnetic ND filter set, a black mist filter, a separate wide-angle conversion lens to broaden the field of view even further (to around 112°/14.4mm equivalent) and carry bag.
