Packed with advanced imaging technology and easy-to-use functionality, Sony says that their new pocket sized, Sony ZV-1 Camera was “designed from the ground up” specifically with content creators and vloggers in mind.

Sony’s new ZV-1 features a large 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS image sensor with DRAM chip and 24-70mm f/1.8-2.8 ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T large-aperture lens and latest-generation BIONZ X™ image processor.
The ZV-1 is able to lock on to and track subjects with high accuracy and speed using Sony’s leading-edge autofocus system.
It’s also Sony’s first compact camera to feature a side-opening Vari-angle LCD screen, to help make it easier to compose shots in selfie mode with external audio accessories attached.

Background Defocus Function: Using the bokeh button, the background defocus function offers two levels of background bokeh while recording that is rapidly adjusted using the optical aperture to offer more and less background defocusing blur without losing focus on the subject.
Product Showcase Setting: The ZV-1 makes it easier than ever to shoot product reviews and similar video content thanks to the new Product Showcase Setting allowing for quick and smooth focus transitions between your subject’s face and any object placed in front of the lens.
Advanced Autofocus: The new AF system locks on and track subjects with high accuracy and speed using Real-time Eye AF and Real-time Tracking AF.

Face Priority: The new Face Priority auto exposure (AE) function detects and prioritizes the subject’s face and smoothly adjusts the exposure to ensure that the subjects face stays at an ideal brightness.
High Quality Audio: The ZV-1’s onboard mic features Sony’s latest Directional 3-capsule Mic designed for forward-directional audio capture that clearly captures the subject’s voice while at the same time minimizing background noise.
If you aren’t a fan of built in microphones, the ZV-1 also features a 3.5mm jack and Multi Interface Shoe providing the flexibility to add a wide range of external microphones.

The ZV-1 can record in 4K with full-pixel readout and no pixel binning in the high bit rate XAVC S codec and the easy-to-hold grip and a large, well placed movie REC button on the top of the camera make it easy hold in one hand while recording.
There is also a forward facing recording lamp that illuminates when the camera is actively recording.

Image Stabilization
When shooting in HD (Active mode) the ZV-1 uses both optical and electronic image stabilization methods to reduce shaking up to 11 times that of standard SteadyShot image stabilization and offers up to 8 times that of standard SteadyShot when recording in 4K resolution.
The ZV-1 can also be used as a webcam to live stream when connected to a PC via USB and using Sony’s upcoming PC software (expected in July 2020) allowing you to interact with followers in real-time.
New Vlogger Accessories Kit
Sony will also be introducing a Vlogger Kit (expected in June 2020), which includes the GP-VPT2BT Shooting Grip with Wireless Remote Commander and a 64GB Ultra High Speed Media Card that when paired with an external microphone (sold separately) can be used to create a simple vlogging set-up.
