It boasts a 9-blade rounded diaphragm as well as five FLD (Low Dispersion) elements and four Aspherical lens elements to ensure optimal image quality with minimal aberrations.
The inner zoom mechanism keeps overall length consistent throughout the entire zoom range, while keeping it’s center of gravity fairly constant, making it perfect for gimbal use.
The lens uses a stepping motor to control the AF actuator which Sigma says provides both fast and silent operation, making it ideal for those who need a quiet lens for photo or video capture.
Thanks in part to it’s constant aperture, and Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material construction, it weighs a mere 450g (1 lbs) and is 100.6mm (4 in) long making it a great everyday use lens option for landscape, wedding and travel photographers.
