Sony RX10 IV: The Ultimate Zoom ‘All-in-One’ Camera


Sony’s new RX10 IV is the latest incarnation of their popular “all-in-one” super zoom series of Cyber-Shot cameras.

Lens Fully Extended

It features what Sony is calling the world’s fastest AF acquisition time of 0.03 seconds and is capable of continuous shooting at up to 24 fps with full AF/AE tracking and a 315 point phase-detection AF system that covers about 65% of the frame.

Under the hood, is a 1-inch 20.1-megapixel Exmor RS CMOS stacked sensor paired with a BIONZ X image processor.

The built-in Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 24-600mm lens features 25x optical zoom and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with 4.5 stops of shake compensation.

Rear Touchscreen and Controls

The 3-inch, 1.44 million-dot LCD touchscreen tilts up to 109° upward and 41° downward but doesn’t swivel out from the body.

The touchscreen also allows you to shift focus with a swipe of your thumb while continuing to compose your shot through the viewfinder or simply focus on an individual part of the frame with a tap.

If you prefer to shoot video, the RX10 IV is more than capable of satisfying your needs recording 4K video with full pixel readout without pixel binning and a Fast Hybrid AF system that smoothly tracks fast moving subjects.

4K is recorded using the XAVC S codec and for more advanced shooting the RX10 IV also supports or is compatible with:
