Fujifilm X-T4: IBIS, Improved Battery, Vari-angle Touchscreen & More

The highly anticipated Fujifilm X-T4 is the successor to Fujifilm’s extremely popular X-T3 and boasts a ton of new and improved features that should make anyone in the market for a new mirrorless camera sit-up and take notice…

Fujifilm X-T4

The new X-T4 offers the same 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and X-Processor 4 quad-core imaging engine as found in the X-T3 but adds five-axis In-Body Image Stabilization, improved autofocus sensitivity down to -6EV, improved AF tracking performance, enhanced battery life and for video shooters, Full HD/240p super slow-motion video recording.

The X-T4 also features a newly developed mechanical shutter, which Fujifilm says is the fastest in the history of the X Series, capable of capturing images at up to 15 fps and is rated for up to 300,000 actuations.

5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilization

The new 5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) system provides up to 6.5 stops (when used with a stabilized lens) of image stabilization.

Improved Battery Life

Battery life has been improved over the X-T3 thanks to a larger capacity battery capable of up to 600 frames per charge(the X-T3’s is 390 frames) and can be more than tripled (up to 2000 frames) when using the newly designed double battery Vertical Battery Grip (sold separately). The battery will also provide enough juice for up to 85 minutes of 4K 30p recording or 95 minutes of Full HD 60p recording.

Vari-angle Touchscreen

New Vari-Angle Touch Screen

Unlike the X-T3’s touchscreen, the 1.62 million pixel vari-angle touchscreen LCD featured on X-T4 can be adjusted to make it visible from a wide range of positions or completely flipped around and hidden (similar to the XPro3) to minimize the distraction and light bleed that bright screens can create.

4K Video

When movie mode is activated, the X-T4 is capable of recording both professional-level DCI 4K/60p and Full HD/240p super slow-motion video and allows for F-Log footage in 10-bit color to be recorded straight to the memory cards or to a compatible external recorder via the HDMI output.

Film Simulations

The X-T4 features 18 of Fujifilm’s popular Film Simulations including PROVIA/Standard, ASTIA/Soft, and Classic Chrome to name a few. It also features a new simulation, ETERNA BLEACH BYPASS, which Fujifilm says “creates a beautiful de-saturated, high-contrast look that any image-maker will find irresistible.”
