The full-frame NIKKOR Z 17-28 f/2.8, is the latest addition to Nikon’s growing selection of f/2.8 zoom lenses combining the versatility of an ultra-wide angle of field view with the benefits of a large, fixed aperture.
Rather poetically, Nikon says that “this is a lens for storytellers, who want to captivate the viewer with vast landscapes, grand interiors or envelope their senses with the starry night sky”.

The lens utilizes its ultra-wide angle perspective and bright, constant f/2.8 aperture to enhance its low light performance, while also producing gorgeous bokeh that makes the subject pop.
It is an extremely lightweight and portable lens weighing in at only 450g, which is approximately 30% lighter than the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 lens and even lighter and more compact than their 485g NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 lens.
Perfect for both stills and video content creators, the near silent, high-speed stepping motor (STM) provides blazing fast autofocus speed, significantly reduced drive noise, and works seamlessly with Nikon Z mirrorless cameras.
Furthermore, video content creators especially will appreciate the lens’ minimal focus breathing and click-less control ring allowing for smooth exposure transitions.
With a minimum focus distance of 19.2cm (7.56 in) creators can capture close-up shots with razor sharp focus on the subject and beautifully blurred backgrounds.
The lens also features a 67mm threaded mount allowing for circular polarizers or neutral density filters to be mounted quickly and easily and because it uses internal zooming it’s easy to pack or carry just about anywhere.
Finally, the entire lens is sealed against dust and water droplets and the front element features an antifouling coating making it easy to wipe away dirt, smudges and fingerprints.
