2025 TIPA Awards - Two Tamron lenses

Two Tamron lenses – the 50-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD and 90mm f/2.8 Di III Macro VXD – have earned the company two TIPA best lens awards in their respective categories this year.

Held by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) in Commack, N.Y., on April 17, the awards ceremony honoured the Tamron 50-300mm f/4.5-6.3 as best superzoom lens and the 90mm F/2.8 as best macro lens.

Tamron has been racking up impressive wins at the TIPA World Awards – which recognize excellence in the photo industry and guide consumers in their purchasing decisions – for 12 consecutive years.

Designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras, the Tamron 50-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD telephoto zoom is ideal for portraits, wildlife and travel photography. On an APS-C camera, it becomes a powerful 750-450mm equivalent, making it a versatile all-round performer.

“The lens excels at close-ups,” according to an excerpt from the jury’s award citation, “delivering impressive half-macro capability.”

Tamron’s 90mm f/2.8 Di III Macro VXD “balances portability with professional-level performance.”

As the latest iteration of one of its most storied macro lenses, the compact and moisture-resistant Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di III Macro VXD offers true 1:1 magnification, along with outstanding sharpness and smooth bokeh.

Ideal for nature, studio or everyday shooting, it’s perfect for everything from shooting insects to copying fine details of old films and photo prints.

“The fast f/2.8 aperture excels in low light and creative isolation,” the jury cited. “Compact and moisture-resistant, it balances portability with professional-level performance.”

With the original 90mm f/2.8 dating back to the pre-digital days of 1979 and the first for digital appearing in 2004, this lens has stood the test of time and will continue to carry its legendary status well into the future.

And with two fresh TIPA wins under its belt, Tamron will continue to attract attention for the innovative approach it applies to an ever-expanding product line.
