The Hasselblad X2D 100C is a 100MP monster of a medium format camera featuring a BSI sensor, phase detection hybrid autofocus, in-body image stabilization (IBIS), pixel-level calibration, up to 15-stops of dynamic range and 16-bit colour depth.

Along with the camera, Hasselblad has also introduced three new lenses, the XCD 38mm f/2.5, XCD 55mm f/2.5, and XCD 90mm f/2.5.

It also utilizes 294 phase detection autofocus points to ensure fast and accurate focusing, and can also be used in conjunction with contrast-base algorithms.

The camera features a custom designed 5-axis in-body image stabilization system adding up to an extra 7-stops of stabilization allowing it to be used handheld in even the most dimly lit situations and still achieve sharp focus.

On the back of the camera, the 3.6″ touch and tilt display offers what Hasselblad calls a “full-view” screen with a resolution of 2.36M and supports 40°and 70° tilting angles making it easier to shoot from low angles.

There is a 1.08″ colour display located on the top of the camera over the hand grip that displays current settings.

The 0.5-inch OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF) boasts 5.76-million dots, 1.00x magnification and refresh rate of up to 60 fps.

It also supports electric refractive error correction to ensure the whole display stays sharp and bright from corner to corner.

The X2D 100C captures images in Hasselblad 3FR RAW and JPEG formats, with files sizes ranging from just over 200 MB for RAW and up to 70 MB for JPEG, and is capable of shooting up to 3.3 frames per second (in 14-bit colour) when using the mechanical shutter.

In terms of storage, the camera features a built-in 1 TB SSD that can store up to 13,800 photos (JPEG), with a write speed up to 2370MB/s and a read speed up to 2850MB/s.

There is also a single CFexpress Type B card(512 GB max) slot for extra storage.

The X2D 100C also features a USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port supporting a maximum 10Gbps transmission rate as well as 2.4/5GHz high-speed Wi-Fi, enabling faster, more stable transmission with less interference.

Lastly, in what may be a deal breaker for some, Hasselblad made the decision to not include any video capabilities on the X2D 100C, instead, focusing on delivering the highest quality still images that they can.
