The latest launches from Profoto include the world’s brightest LED soft-light panel and two new all-in-one mono-light units with one of the best power-to-weight ratios we’ve ever seen. Let’s start with the first one first.

With a maximum power output of 2,000 Watts, the Profoto LP2000C is the brightest LED soft-light panel currently available. That’s its main selling point, for sure, but Profoto has also gone to great lengths to ensure that it’s easy to maneuver and ultimately delivers “maximum power with minimal manpower.”

Weighing in at just 27kg, the LP2000C can be handled by a single gaffer alone, according to Profoto. Designed for quick setup, it also features a 360-degree railing system that can be held from any angle and allows the unit to be mounted in any orientation.

Additional innovations include a set of Snapbag soft-light modifiers co-developed with Munich-based accessory manufacturer DoPchoice that feature a new SpeedClamp system for rapid mounting.

    Profoto L600D and L600C
With the launch of the daylight-balance L600D and full-colour L600C, Profoto has introduced what it’s calling their all-in-one unit with the best power-to-weight ratio to date.

They weigh just 5.9kg and 6.1kg, respectively (including the yoke) and both rely on the next-generation Profoto Core LED engine to deliver 600 Watts of high-quality light output with exceptional TLCI and SSI ratings.

That’s a TLCI of 99 and SSI >84 for both, incidentally, plus a wide CCT range of 2000K to 15000K for the L600C.

Like the 1600-Watt L1600D launched earlier this year, they also use Profoto’s proprietary HydroCTech liquid-cooling system, which eliminates the need for an external ballast and allows for everything to be integrated into the lamp head. This in turn minimizes setup time and maximizes workflow productivity.

The HydroCTech system also accounts for their silent operation on set. Their 16-bit stepless dimming range enables full control with output spanning 0.1% to 100%, and their compatibility with more than 55 Profoto modifiers puts incredible light-shaping diversity and versatility at your fingertips.
