Today, Canon has announced the launch of the EOS R6 Mark III full-frame mirrorless camera, building on the company’s 5-series and 1-series legacy.

Designed to deliver pro-level performance for advanced photographers, videographers, content creators and hybrid enthusiasts, the R6 III is ideal for shooting everything from portraits and wildlife to events and social media production.

    The R6 III packs a 32.5MP full-frame sensor and DIGIC X processor.

Packing a 32.5MP full-frame sensor, the EOS R6 Mark III combines powerful high-res imaging, supporting up to 40 fps electronic shutter shooting and mechanical shutter/electronic first curtain at up to 12 fps.

Advanced video features include 7K 59.94p RAW Light recording, 4K 119.8p with slow and fast motion mode, plus 7K 30p open-gate video.

It’s also capable of oversampled 4K 60p/30p recording (with 7K oversampling for 30p), plus Canon Log 2 with up to 15 stops of dynamic range, waveform monitoring, as well as white balance and operational improvements when recording video.

In a clever departure from its immediate predecessor, the R6 Mark III accepts both CFexpress Type B and SD memory cards, giving hybrid users greater latitude and more flexible file storage options.

With the new EOS R6 Mark III, Canon has created an ideal all-around hybrid camera that will appeal to a broad swath of savvy shooters, from advanced amateurs to professional photographers and beyond.

     Features

    • 7K 60p internal RAW Light recording and 7K 30p Open Gate capture
    • High Frame Rate recording offering 4K 120p and 2K 180p for slow-motion and creative motion
    • 32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor paired with the DIGIC X image processor
    • Excellent low-light AF performance down to EV -6.5 at f/1.2 (stills)
    • Support for Canon Log 2

    • 3.69m-dot OLED EVF with OVF view assist
    • 8.5-stop 5-axis image stabilization
    • CFexpress type B and SD card for improved hybrid shooting performance

Accompanying today’s launch is the new RF 45mm f/1.2 STM lens, a compact, lightweight prime designed for natural perspectives with a wider angle than most conventional 50mm options.

Its compact build makes it easy to handle for portraits, snapshots, landscapes and more.

For a lens of this type with such a large maximum aperture, it’s not only ideal for shooting in challenging low-light conditions, it also offers incredible shallow depth of field and delightful bokeh effects, all at a comfortable price point to boot.

    Features

    • Wide f/1.2 aperture
    • PMo aspherical lenses
    • Gear-type STM with magnetic detection
    • Nine circular aperture blades
    • Fixed rear-lens focusing system
    • Customizable control ring
    • Enhanced compactness via fixed-length barrel
