Atomos launches the Atomos Connect and Atomos Zato Connect

Atomos has just launched two new devices to help streamline your livestreams: the Atomos Connect and Atomos Zato Connect.

Atomos Connect
The new Atomos Connect expansion module for the Ninja V and Ninja V+ lets filmmakers, streamers and video content producers seamlessly share their work with an audience from just about anywhere. When attached to the Ninja V or V+, the Atomos Connect transforms your camera into a fully connected device that supports advanced cloud-based workflows.

Equipped with WiFi 6, Gigabit Ethernet and the ability to join cellular hotspots, you can use it to livestream to Facebook Live, Twitch, YouTube and other platforms, including Slack and Zoom.

Fully integrated as a Frame.io Camera to Cloud device, it also enables advanced online workflows and remote collaboration via support for HDMI- and SDI-equipped cameras.

With Atomos Connect, you can easily create a multi-camera setup in which all devices are locked with wireless synchronised timecode: the dual-record feature creates hero Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHR/HD (or ProRes RAW on the NINJA V+) and proxy HEVC (H.265) files with matching timecode and metadata.

Atomos Connect also features Atomos AirGlu wireless sync technology to directly enable long-range communication between devices and provide a robust timecode lock. And now with Atomos support for NDI integration throughout its entire Connect product range, both the Atomos Connect and Zato Connect allow for bi-directional sharing of video and audio sources across local and wide area networks.

Atomos Zato Connect
With support for HDMI and USB UVC cameras or video sources, the compact all-in-one Atomos Zato Connect serves as a seamless gateway to the Atomos Cloud Studio. Equipped with WiFi 5, Gigabit Ethernet and the ability to join cellular hotspots, it lets you stream to Facebook Live, Twitch and YouTube. You can also use it to create high-quality video for Microsoft Teams, Slack and Zoom.

The device is compact enough to mount onto a camera rig, and the five-inch touchscreen display can be used to switch between sources and monitor the outgoing program stream. With a compact form factor, it features a SuperAtom IPS 1000nit display, input and output ports for both HDMI and USB UVC, a 3.5mm audio jack and NP-F battery or USB-C PD power options.

You can record each livestream as local H.264 backup to an SD card and combine recorded sources with live content. Use the audio mixer to combine audio signals from the analog input with the embedded audio, adjusting each channel independently – and mix them down to a single stereo track for your presentation. The software also gives you tools to introduce overlay effects, image zoom and frame guides to enhance your livestream or videoconference.
