    Aputure expands the Nova series

    David WrightBy David WrightJanuary 27, 2026Updated:January 27, 2026No Comments4 Mins Read

With the launch of its new Nova panels, Aputure has advanced the series impressively, aiming to redefine what a professional LED lighting fixture can achieve. The compact Nova II 1×1 and high-output Nova 9° 2×1 share certain similarities but in several respects couldn’t be more different. Here’s what you need to know about each.

Aputure’s Nova series of compact panel lights are known to provide broad, even high-output light that’s perfect for illuminating spaces and backdrops, as well as for providing fill lighting.

Building on the success of the original Nova P300c – the inaugural Nova panel launched in 2018 – this new 500W LED panel light fixture delivers more than twice the diffused output and offers greater creative control than its popular predecessor.

In fact, it’s even brighter than the Nova P600c.

Housed within a rugged IP65-rated body, the next-gen Nova II is designed to withstand some of the most challenging film, television and broadcast environments out there.

Weighing in at about 13kg, it’s the consummate small-format panel combining unparalleled performance and creative control in a portable, weather-sealed package.

The Nova II 1×1 and 2X1 are available on their own or in accessorized travel kits and three-light kits. Compatible accessories are also sold separately.

    Nova 9° 2×1
In a compact, portable form factor, this stunning new high-output lensed LED panel is designed to replicate nothing less than the power and precision of natural sunlight itself.

As the name suggests, it features an ultra-tight nine-degree native beam angle that combines with Aputure’s proprietary BLAIR chipset to achieve exceptionally long-throw performance.

What you get is crisp directional beams and hard shadows projected across great distances, characterized by incredible intensity and remarkable control.

Weighing just under 30kg, the Nova 9° 2×1 offers a high output-to-weight ratio in a durable weather-sealed housing with seamless integration into the Sidus ecosystem.

It’s also built for scalability, meaning it can be stacked in multi-light yoke configurations to form large directional arrays capable of recreating hard daylight effects at 10m or more.

The Nova 9° 2×1 is available on its own or in accessorized travel kits and three-light kits. Compatible accessories are also sold separately.
