Firmware 2.00 for the Fujifilm X half camera

Fujifilm has just released Firmware 2.00 for the Fujifilm X half camera, adding some cool new features and a few welcome performance enhancements.

Fujifilm’s X half camera had been in the works for a while but caught many by surprise upon its 2025 release. This unique ultra-compact digital camera focuses on an analogue-inspired workflow and features a vertically oriented 1-inch sensor that makes it perfectly suited to social media content.

Today’s firmware update adds a soft glow filter, support for 12- and 24-shot rolls in film-camera mode, plus faster startup and autofocus. Here are some more details.

Key new features in Version 2.00

• Soft glow filter: this has been added to the image quality setting filter functions to soften tone in the highlights, enhance the beautiful glow and give users a creative new option for dreamier-looking imagery.
• Expanded film-camera mode: this introduces new 12-shot and 24-shot roll configurations alongside existing options, expanding your range of choices while preserving the film-camera look and feel.
• Performance enhancements: these updates deliver quicker startup times, faster autofocus – especially in scenes where the focus point changes from the previous shot and in low-light scenes – and reduced shot-to-shot latency.

Without elaboration, today’s announcement also indicates that other minor bugs have been fixed.
