The Beatles Illuminated: The Discovered Works of Mike Mitchell sale raked in $361,938, July 20 at Christie’s auction house in New York.

Photographer Mike Mitchell was only 18 when the Fab Four first invaded the United States. And though he documented them during this historical tour, his photos remained a mystery for 47 years. Now that they’ve come to light, however, they’ve fetched him quite a tidy sum – over 300% what the experts had estimated!
