April 26 is Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day.

2009 marks the 9th annual celebration of the pinhole camera: one of the oldest photographic tools, used to create photos without a lens.

Anyone, anywhere in the world, who takes a pinhole photograph on the last Sunday in April (the 26th this year), can scan their image and upload it to the website where it will become part of this premier gallery of lenless photography.

If you haven’t already, get creative and build your own pinhole camera (google has a wealth of sites to walk you through it) to see how creative you can get without the use of your gear.

Last year, 2628 participants from 62 countries uploaded images to the gallery. Why not take a break from the world of technology, take a step back and make your contribution?
