Standing-room only at Albert Watson speaking engagement!

    adminBy adminNovember 6, 2012Updated:December 9, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

Despite Hurricane Sandy’s best efforts, legendary photographer Albert Watson made it to Toronto (albeit on a rescheduled night… mother nature can be a harsh mistress) and was able to speak to a standing-room only crowd this past Friday (Nov. 2) at Toronto’s Berkeley Church.

Over 300 people attended the sold-out speaking engagement and were regaled with stories of the many celebrities and super models to have graced his viewfinder.

Not only was the enthusiastic crowd treated to an honest and entertaining recounting of his many iconic shoots, many die-hards were able to stay behind, after the event, to say hello and have books signed… as Watson was gracious enough to remain until every last person got their opportunity.

One particularly happy photographer was Toronto’s own Matt Barnes, who was afforded a chance to shoot his own portrait of the master himself.

Matt Barnes sets up his shot with Albert Watson and Vistek President, Ron Silverstein.

Watson’s list of portraits reads like a veritable who’s who of the rich and famous. And many of his iconic shots are now on display at Toronto’s Izzy Gallery in Yorkville, where they can be viewed until December 27.
