Sigma’s stellar new 85mm f/1.2 DG Art large-aperture medium-telephoto lens achieves Sigma’s brightest aperture to date while delivering outstanding portability in a range of demanding applications.
Weighing in at just 905g, it’s the smallest and lightest lens of this type in its class, according to Sigma.

Designed for E-mount and L-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras, it offers a focal length widely considered ideal for portrait photography at a weight that allows it to be used comfortably during long shoots and in situations that require extensive mobility.
With this latest addition joining the 35mm f/1.2 DG II Art and 50mm f/1.2 DG DN Art, the Sigma f/1.2 Art Series is finally complete as a trio of like-minded lenses now spanning wide angle, standard and medium telephoto.
Intended to make the most of its exceptional maximum aperture, this lens incorporates two SLD glass elements to suppress axial chromatic aberrations and aspherical lens elements to correct spherical aberration and sagittal coma flare.

Together, that large f/1.2 aperture and medium-telephoto 85mm focal length combine to deliver desirably shallow depth of field and exquisite bokeh, accentuated by the addition of a 13-blade diaphragm to maintain near perfectly circular bokeh balls.
Thanks to fast and quiet autofocus driven by dual high-response linear actuators, the lens delivers reliable tracking performance for both stills and video. And for those shooting video, the optical arrangement is optimized specifically to suppresses focus breathing as well.
The barrel is equipped with two AFL buttons that can be assigned to various functions. It also boasts a dust- and splash-resistant structure, as well as a water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element, so you can feel comfortable using the lens in challenging outdoor environments.
