The new Fujinon XF 400mm f/4.5 R LM OIS WR super-telephoto prime lens is designed to extend your reach and make shooting distant subjects easier, even in the most difficult conditions.
With a 35mm equivalent focal length of 609mm, this lens lets you get in nice and close without disturbing the scene – perfect for situations involving skittish birds and other wildlife, or when shooting fast-action sporting events from a safe distance.
Fujinon has already demonstrated its supremacy in this realm with earlier offerings such as the medium format GF 500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR and the APS-C format XF 500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR prime lenses.
Also designed for APS-C format mirrorless Fujifilm cameras, the new XF 400mm f/4.5 is compatible with optional XF1.4X TC WR and XF2X TC WR teleconverters, extending coverage to 560mm or 800mm – that’s 853mm and 1219mm respectively in 35mm equivalents – for capturing even more distant or subjects with clarity and ease.
Although the new 400mm prime lacks some of the versatility of a super-telephoto zoom, including the XF 150-600mm f/5.6-8 R LM OIS WR, it boasts a more generous constant f/4.5 maximum aperture, allowing for greater depth of field and the ability to isolate your subject more readily and dramatically.
And as a fixed focal length lens, the 400mm prime also offers superior edge-to-edge sharpness and faster tracking AF over options like the older XF 100-400mm zoom.

Fujifilm has done its best to rein in the proportions and keep this lens relatively lightweight at 1,245g, placing great emphasis on balance, portability and handheld agility.
Optical image stabilization helps reduce the effects of camera shake by up to 5.5 stops, making it ideal for shooting handheld when a using a tripod just isn’t an option.
The lens features a high-speed linear autofocus motor to deliver fast and accurate performance. You’ve also got focus presets at your fingertips, allowing you to respond more quickly to unpredictable actions in the moment as they happen without missing a beat.
