Hey so I heard you want to see the world and document all your adventures? Travel content and photography can be a super intimidating niche to jump into at first, but new cameras definitely make it a whole lot easier! So let me walk you through some tips and tricks for getting the perfect shot on your travels!

When I first started in the travel niche a few years ago, crowded tourist locations were my biggest headache. The fear of not being able to get good footage quickly always stressed me out. But with Sony’s latest technology, you can document your adventures even while solo traveling. The Alpha 7C II has an AI processor that powers its Auto Framing feature — it automatically detects and tracks your subject in frame and adjusts on its own, without you having to move the camera.

Of course, on longer trips you want to travel light, but most creators and photographers don’t want to sacrifice footage quality. That’s what makes the Sony a7C II perfect for the job. As a full-frame camera, it gives you the highest quality footage even with a super compact, lightweight body — the perfect companion for long adventures on the road! Now that you’ve got your perfect companion, what are some travel tips for along the way?

    1. Figure out your priorities!

Are you looking to prioritize getting content, or hitting as many tourist spots as possible? It’s always hard to fit everything into one trip, but once you get your priorities straight it gets so much easier. If the goal is documenting content, leave more time to film and take photos at each location. If the goal is hitting tourist spots, try to grab footage on the go! Either way, I always recommend leaving ample time for travel and meals so you don’t feel overwhelmed.

    2. Not everything you see on social media is the truth

Be careful chasing viral shots. A lot of these locations only look good in photos and can be way out of the way from the main cities. I’ve gone to viral spots only to be disappointed by the actual experience. Sometimes the shots turn out great, sometimes they don’t — and you can lose a good chunk of time just getting there. Photo-perfect spots also aren’t always the best places to hit if you actually want to experience the city while you travel. The more research you do ahead of time, the smoother and easier the trip will be!

    3. Outfit coordination is the key to cinematic content!

Even with all your shots planned out and perfect lighting, the right outfit is what ties together the most cinematic travel shots. I often pack pre-planned outfits so I don’t waste time choosing something every morning. And if you want to pack light and skip the big dresses or aesthetic coats, you can always rent outfits abroad — lots of tourist-heavy photo spots have rentals! Just research pricing and availability ahead of time for the best results.

The perfect trip and content really comes down to planning and preparing for the shot. As time passes, our memories fade and certain moments slip away from us. But documenting your time in your temporary home helps those memories last a lifetime. Hope these tips help on your next adventure with your favorite Sony camera! So — have I convinced you to go document your next travel adventure?
