Nanlite has just launched two new FC series spotlights – the bi-colour FC-720B and full-colour FC-720C. Both share certain similarities, as you’d expect, but they’re also quite different. Let’s take a closer look.

    The FC-720C offers an ultra-wide 2,400K to 12,000K range with ±150 G/M adjustment.

Nanlite’s FC series is positioned somewhere roughly between the higher-end Forza series and the more limited FS monolights, with previous models spanning the FC-120C and B to FC-500B and C.

These two new models boast a substantial step up in terms of both power and output – 750 watts of power, to be exact, reaching 12,690 lux at 3m (5600K, with 45° reflector) output for the 720B and 11,400 lux (5600K) and 3,700 lux (green) output at 3m with 45° reflector for the 720C.

Both also deliver high colour accuracy, with the FC-720B offering a selectable colour temperature range from 2,700K to 6,500K, sufficient to reproduce both cool and warm white light as required on set.

The FC-720C offers a more versatile ultra-wide range of 2,400K to 12,000K with ±150 green/magenta adjustment – enough to enable natural daylight simulation and more precise tone control.

Output for the FC-720B reaches 12,690 lux at 3m (5600K, with 45° reflector).

As with other models in this lineup, these two are controllable via DMX/RDM or the NANLINK App 2.0 for seamless integration into multi-fixture workflows.

They feature control panels with an intuitive interface, allowing for quick access to CCT, hue and saturation in 0.1% dimming increments for super-smooth adjustments.

The FC-720B and 720C feature a standard Bowens mount and come with umbrella mounts to handle a wide range of accessories.

They’re also equipped with four fan modes, including Smart mode for a near-silent, barely audible 26 dB(A) fan noise that allows for nice clean audio capture on your shoot.
