The new DJI Osmo Action 6 action cam is the first of its kind to offer a variable aperture. And that’s not all.
In a dramatic departure from the current industry standard across all major brands of a fixed f/2.8 aperture, the Osmo Action 6 now spans f/2 at the wide end – gathering twice as much light – to a narrower f/4 aperture at the other end, providing much greater depth of field.
It’s liberating to imagine the creative flexibility this latest development engenders. But that’s not the only upgrade separating this model from its most recent predecessor, the Osmo Action 5, as well as the competition.
The Osmo Action 6 also features a larger square-shaped 1/1.1-inch sensor over the previous 1/1.3-inch one, opening up additional new creative possibilities.
That all-new sensor enables a novel 4K Custom mode that not only lets you shoot first and crop later but also to do so in a range of multiple aspect ratios.
The larger sensor and broader maximum aperture also combine to allow for a new SuperNight mode that enables you to capture detailed video up to 4K/60fps in more challenging and previously prohibitive low-light conditions.

Sound capture gets a substantial boost too, thanks to the new DJI OsmoAudio ecosystem, which supports the direct connection to two DJI microphone transmitters and eliminates the need for a receiver.
You also have the option to activate the built-in mic audio backup feature to introduce ambient sounds into the mix and create a distinctly original immersive experience.
In addition to the Standard Combo, the Osmo Action 6 action cam is also available in an Adventure Combo. Accessories such as the FOV boost lens, waterproof case, neutral density filter set, diving accessory kit, glass lens cover and macro lens are also accompanying today’s launch and sold separately.
