A man crouches above a creek holding a camera with the Panasonic Lumix 100-500mm zoom lens attached

The Lumix S 100-500mm f/5-7.1 O.I.S. is Panasonic’s first S Series ultra-telephoto zoom lens to reach a focal length of up to 500mm. Compatible with optional 1.4x and 2x teleconverters, this remarkable new lens can cover a staggering combined focal length of up to 1000mm.

Ideal for applications spanning wildlife and motorsports to landscapes and more, the lens is targeted to both professionals and enthusiasts shooting both stills and video.

Weighing in at 1,285g and measuring roughly 196mm in length, the lens is reasonably compact for a zoom of this scope. High-speed, high-precision autofocus and up to seven stops of image-stabilization performance combine to make for easy handheld shooting and portability.

For a lens of this calibre, it’s also reasonably inexpensive, making it the perfect choice for entry-level shooters ready and eager to try their hand at ultra-telephoto photography.
