The affordable new DJI Mini 5 Pro packs a suite of flagship-level features and performance into a compact ultra-lightweight body, meeting a wide range of needs and surpassing expectations. Is this finally the drone you’ve been waiting for?

The regulation-friendly DJI Mini 5 Pro keeps its weight below 250g.

While retaining the regulation-friendly sub-250g weight of its immediate predecessor (just barely though, at 249.9g), the next-gen DJI Mini 5 Pro drone boasts a heftier 50MP 1-inch CMOS sensor – closer to what you’d find in the pricier DJI Air 3S – with the ability to shoot 4K/60fps HDR and 4K/120fps slow motion.

This is just the latest in a series of incremental advances that have kept one of DJI’s best-selling drone lineups on everyone’s radar for a while.

By keeping its weight below a certain threshold, DJI ensures that the Mini 5 Pro requires no training or examinations to operate in most countries, including Canada, putting it within easy reach of budding novices. And the relatively budget-friendly price tag is another major selling point, considering the cutting-edge tech that comes with it.

Combined with new image-processing technology and intelligent algorithms, the large sensor can capture the finest details even in tricky low-light conditions. The Mini 5 Pro also uses portrait-optimization technology to enhance brightness, contrast and skin tones, and an innovative new 48mm Med-Tele mode with 2x zoom makes your chosen subject stand out more prominently in the shot.

The gimbal supports 225-degree roll rotation as well as true vertical shooting for social-ready content, and upgraded ActiveTrack 360° now boasts multi-scenario tracking that automatically selects, among other things, Cycling or Standard mode for optimal framing and tracking as the situation requires.

In HDR video mode, you’ll capture 4K/60fps footage with up to 14 stops of dynamic range. In slow-motion mode, you get video recording at 4K/120fps. You can record 10-bit video using H.265 encoding, or raise the maximum ISO to 12800 in D-Log M and HLG colour modes to achieve higher brightness when shooting night scenes and in other low-light scenarios.

And your drone will have no trouble finding its way home in darkness at night. Forward-facing LiDAR and multiple vision sensors allow for nightscape omnidirectional obstacle sensing and a safe return home.

Remarkably, the Mini 5 Pro can even memorize flight routes to take off and return without a satellite signal to guide it.

DJI Mini 5 Pro is available in a range of combos with a set of accessories that best suit your flight requirements: the DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo Plus with RC2; ND filters adapt the craft to shoot in various lighting conditions; the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus offers extended flight time; the Two-Way Charging Hub recharges batteries and transfers remaining power to a single battery when needed.
