With today’s announcement, the new Profoto B20 and B30 LED flashes take the series one step further, improving upon some of the things that already made the original B10 range great.

The B20 and B30 (pictured) feature a rubberized surface that ensures durability and provides a secure grip.

The B10 made an impressive debut when it first launched back in 2018. Noted for its combination of power and portability, the compact battery-powered B10 quickly became the go-to off-camera flash head for many pros.

A couple of years later came the B10X and B10X Plus, which delivered significant improvements in terms of power and recycling time.

Boasting even more robust power and faster performance, the B20 and B30 continue to build on that momentum.

With 40W of power, the B20 and B30 deliver a whopping 50% more output than the B10X. And at 0.01 to 1.2 seconds, recycling time is now 13% faster, to be exact.

Also new is a user-replaceable flash tube that allows for quick and easy swaps on set. The 11-stop power range (one stop more than the B10X) ensures greater flexibility, allowing you to deploy these units in situations requiring anything from subtle fill light to full-power illumination.

The 0.1 f-stop incremental control range spans 0.25-to-250 Ws for the B20 and 0.5-to-500 Ws for B30.

Something that hasn’t changed: the three flash modes that have become another hallmark of the series. You’ve got the ECO mode designed to help extend equipment lifespan by only partially charging the flash capacitators to reduce internal heat stress.

The Boost mode gives you extra power when you need it, and the Freeze mode offers the shortest flash duration – 1/50,000th of a second – across the full flash power range to help eliminate motion blur when you’re capturing fast action.

The Profoto B20 and B30 are also compatible with all 100mm Profoto light-shapers, including larger and heavier LSTs, putting more than 120 modifiers and accessories at your disposal and incredible versatility at your fingertips.

And it pays to double up: both are available in cost-effective duo kits, giving you two of everything you need plus some savings.
