The new DJI Mavic 4 Pro flagship drone packs some revolutionary technology into its compact aerodynamic proportions.

The Mavic lineup has been turning heads since its launch in 2016, bringing aerial imaging within reach for many thanks to its portable form factor and affordable price. It’s been a couple of years since the Mavic 3 Pro made its appearance, and the latest addition represents another major leap forward for the popular series.

The DJI Mavic 4 Pro flagship drone boasts a new triple-camera system, including a 100MP Hasselblad.

    For starters, the Mavic 4 Pro introduces an advanced new triple-camera system, featuring a 28mm 100MP Hasselblad camera, a 70mm 48MP medium-tele camera and a 168mm 50MP tele camera.

This combination of power and versatility lets you capture everything from expansive wide-angle landscapes to detailed telephoto close-ups in a single go.

All three cameras boast a Dual Native ISO Fusion function, and all three are capable of 6K/60fps HDR video capture. Both the Hasselblad and the medium-tele camera support 4K/120fps video recording, while the tele camera also records in 4K/100fps.

The Hasselblad camera captures images with up to 16 stops of dynamic range, while the medium-tele and tele cameras boast 14 stops and 13 stops of dynamic range, respectively.

The Mavic 4 Pro also introduces the company’s innovative new Infinity Gimbal, which enables full 360-degree rotation for incredible aerial versatility. And the familiar ActiveTrack 360° is now enhanced to perform even in low-light scenarios as well as keep a subject in focus even if the lower half of their body is partially obscured.

The stunning new 0.1-Lux Nightscape omnidirectional obstacle-sensing feature makes its debut on this model, allowing for safer nighttime photography overall and using forward-facing LiDAR to guide the craft safely home during potentially hazardous nocturnal flights.

So, in the end, how does the Mavic Pro 4 stack up against its closest sibling, the 3 Pro? The differences are significant, starting with Hasselblad’s 100MP sensor in the 4 Pro versus the latter’s 20MP one, capable of up to 6K/60fps HDR video capture versus the Pro 3’s 5.1K/50fps.

Maximum flight time now clocks out at 51 minutes, a substantial boost over the 3 Pro’s 43 minutes, with double the maximum transmission distance at 30km. Add to that a healthy handful of innovative new features, and the Mavic 4 Pro makes a very attractive option for anyone looking to get into drone photography or others just seeking to up their game.
