Designed to communicate seamlessly with its latest Alpha camera bodies, Sony’s new ultra-compact HVL-F46RMA wireless radio flash delivers consistent GN46 light output to meet a wide range of professional lighting needs.

The HVL-F46RMA delivers more than 320 flashes with a two-second recycle time on just four AA batteries.

This new model follows the launch of the similar HVL-F46RM just a couple of years ago. The HVL-F46RMA has been fine tuned to such a degree that when used with a compatible camera, the flash works in tandem with its face-detection function to provide the ideal level of lighting for the main subject of a shot, with white balance automatically adjusted to render natural colour.

The flash unit also transfers colour temperature data to the camera where that information is used to precisely adjust white balance to render natural colours in any given situation.

Even the flash illumination angle is automatically adjusted to match the focal length of a lens within a 24mm to 105mm range, and light distribution is adjusted to deliver optimum illumination for a full-frame or APS-C format sensor.

For easy flexible bounce adjustment, you can angle the flash head 180 degrees to the left or right, 150 degrees up or 8 degrees down. You’ll get more than 320 flashes with a two-second recycle time on just four AA batteries, including continuous flash shooting. Heat-resistant materials prevent the unit from overheating when shooting for extended periods.

With the HVL-F46RMA, you can also count on reliably stable wireless radio communication at distances up to 30m, including around reflectors and obstacles, with slow sync, rear-curtain sync and multi flash support, plus control for up to 15 flash units in five groups.
