    DJI OSMO Action 3

DJI has announced the OSMO Action 3, a 4K action camera that features dual touch screens, supports vertical video, improved battery life and a body that is more reminiscent of the original OSMO Action than the previous model DJI Action 2.

The OSMO Action 3 features a Type 1/1.7 sensor that is capable of capturing up to 4K footage at 120 frames per second with a super-wide 155-degree field of view.

There is also a colour temperature sensor that DJI says intelligently adjusts white balance and AE to produce “highly accurate” colours, even in complex lighting situations, such as filming underwater.DJI OSMO Action 3 Front and Back Views

The removeable, fast charging 1,770 mAH battery allows the camera to continuously record for up to 160 minutes on a single charge and can be recharged to 80% in just 18 minutes, and to 100% in just under an hour.

As it is designed to be a “go anywhere you can” camera, the Action 3 can also handle temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees Fahrenheit) without any significant reduction in recording time.

It can also handle depths of up to 16 meters (52 feet) and the front/rear screens and protective lens cover are all made of Gorilla Glass and feature a hydrophobic coating which DJI says will repel water quickly without affecting image quality.

The front touch screen supports commonly used touch control functions meaning users no longer have to turn the camera around to access them via the rear screen.

Both displays also rotate when switching from horizontal to vertical orientations and DJI says that they are sensitive enough to be operated even with wet hands.

The camera settings can also be controlled via voice commands when situations arise where your hands aren’t available.

Stabilization is provided using RockSteady 3.0 which eliminates camera shake in all directions and supports recording at up to 4K/120fps, HorizonSteady which also eliminates camera shake in all directions, as well as horizontally correcting tilt at any angle even through 360° rotations and HorizonBalancing which corrects the tilt horizontally within plus/minus 45° when recording up to 4K/60fps footage.

The Action 3 records stereo audio natively using a 3 mic system with wind noise suppression and also the ability to connect wirelessly to the DJI Mic for audio capture up to 250 meters away. Other external mics can also be connected using a Type-C to 3.5mm cable.

Both frames features a magnetic quick release design that allows it to be attached to or removed from a variety of mounts quickly and easily.

Finally, the Action 3 also supports live streaming via Wi-Fi on a number of different platforms in multiple resolutions via and can also be used as a webcam offering high-quality video and audio.
